After Ed and Joyce Gustafson built an in-ground pool for their children, Eric and Cheryl, they decided it should be easier to get supplies and service in their area. In 1982, Gustafson Pools, Inc. was born.
A building in downtown Hartford was purchased and developed for this new business venture, then expanded, and then expanded two more times since!
Once Ed retired from his teaching career, he and Joyce ran the business full time, Spring until Fall, with the help of their children during their college breaks.
After working as an accountant for a CPA firm several years, Eric began his own accounting business and joined Gustafson Pool and Spa as a partner in 1990.
Eric and his wife Teisha are now the sole owners, with the help of a trained and loyal staff.
"Eric, his parents and I have developed many friendships over the years through our business," states Teisha. "Each Spring we look forward to many returning faces to our store! We catch up, share winter stories, and then get down to business!"
